Rainbow Nation’s Code of Conduct

We ask that all of our community members uphold our code to create a safe and inclusive environment for all.

• Support and encourage others, make an active effort to be kind and make all members feel welcome and part of the community.
• When in pairs or a group, work in a way that is inclusive and respectful to all.
• Ask before touching someone or entering their personal space.
• Seek consent before photographing or recording others.
• Avoid making assumptions about others; if you are unsure, ask! (for example, gender and pronouns).
• Assume good intent, know it is both okay to be wrong and okay to learn.
• Exercise respect, kindness and consideration in your speech and actions.
• Rainbow Nation believes that people of all genders and sexualities exist, matter, are valid and are equal. Transgender, Bisexual, Pansexual, Queer, Asexual, Poly, Demisexual, Lesbian, etc. are all welcome here. And anyone wishing to be in our spaces should be respectful & welcoming towards everyone regardless of their gender or sexual orientation, or anything else that defines their identity.
• Demeaning, discriminatory or harassing behaviour and speech will not be tolerated under any circumstances. This includes:
  • Prejudiced comments relating to (but not limited to) gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, age, religion, physical appearance or ability.
  • Micro-aggressions, i.e. subtle, often subconscious actions that may marginalise those from oppressed groups.
  • Minimising the experiences of others.

This code of conduct is open to suggestions and criticism. We are always happy to learn and improve.
