General Information & FAQs

How It All Works

Our classes are structured in Terms like a school, usually 12-14 consecutive weeks. You can book a Taster Class to try any class before committing to the Term.
Working this way assures continuity and progression, both within the subject and also socially. A big part of what RNDA is about is meeting new people and connecting with a community.
There’s always an optional social after class, everyone is welcome, and encouraged to join. We understand socialising can be scary, especially with new people, but it’s a big part of what we’re about. We will do everything we can to make you feel welcome & included. Also, people who attend classes regularly and socialise with their class mates not only have more fun, but they also improve faster as they’re more relaxed and comfortable within the sessions.

Class Swaps

If you’re going to miss any of your classes for any reason, you can ‘swap’ and attend a different class, any subject, in any city, after the first class of your booking has happened (the one main exception is Pole Dancing, as it’s a premium priced class, Pole students can swap into other classes, but standard Dance classes can’t swap into Pole).
You don’t have to book, you just turn up & tell the instructor which class you’ve swapped from.
All classes and class swaps have to be used within the same Term!

Multi-Class Discount

You’ll automatically receive a 10% discount if you book the Full Term of 2 or more classes.

Payment Plans

We understand the need for budgeting. We offer payment plans on all of our classes.
Simply choose the option to β€˜pay in instalments’ when adding a Full Term to your basket.
The cost will then be spread out over 3 months. It will automatically debit the fees from your account.
Choosing to book using a payment plan does not mean the classes are pay as you go. The full fees for the whole Term will still be due.
If you require a different plan, something more tailored to your situation, please get in touch and I’m sure we can arrange something!

Scholarships

We can help fund part or full scholarships through our parent company The Rainbow Nation Foundation, for anyone under financial hardship.
A lack of money should not stop you from joining the community!
Get in touch for information on donating towards or applying for a scholarship.
Scholarships will remain completely anonymous to all RNDA members &Β  nobody will be treated any differently within classes or socials.

Refer a friend scheme

If you refer anyone, and they join RNDA, we will credit your account Β£50 per person referred. The person referred needs to join for the full term & have paid their fees in full before we can credit you.
So spread the word & get your friends/colleagues/flatmates/partners etc to come try a class!
Ask them to write your full name on their sign-up form when asked how they heard about us.

FAQs

What should I bring/wear to class?

In most dance classes, you can wear normal ‘gym’ style clothing; tracksuits/shorts/leggings, t-shirt/vest/crop top, trainers. You’re always welcome to wear proper dance clothes & shoes.
Some classes dress shoes or heels are more appropriate, but the booking confirmation email will confirm this, you can always drop us a message if you’re worried, and worst case scenario- turning up in trainers for your first class will be fine.
You should always wear tight fitting underwear; sports bras, briefs etc. for support.
Please remove loose fitting jewellery.
Bring some water and a small towel with you.
For any Choir, Drama or Musical Theatre classes, you should bring a folder & a pencil.

Is RNDA / Are the classes for gay men only?

No! All of our classes are open to anyone and everyone.Β Any gender, all sexualities, we don’t ask, we want you to be able to live as & express your true self! Our only restriction is all members must be at least 18 years old.

I have never danced/sung/done any form of performing arts before. Can I still come?

Of course! We have Beginner levels for most of our classes, and our All Levels classes are also open to Beginners. You do not need any previous experience. The instructors will work towards your abilities and always be there to answer questions & assist. We all had to start somewhere as a beginner, and for you, that somewhere could be one of our classes!

Do I need to commit to a whole Term? What if I change my mind? And what if I can’t make it to class every week?

We offer Taster Classes for you to try our classes before you decide to commit to the rest of the Term. If this is your first time with us, you can use the promo code NEW50% to get your first Taster Class half price.
Once you know which class you want to join, you will need to book for the rest of the Term.
We have a 14 day cancellation period from the point of booking.
The website automatically updates every week, so when you book onto a Term, you only pay for the remaining classes.
Joining for the Term will give you access to our Class Swap system, meaning you can swap to other classes to make up for any missed classes. For example, if you join Monday Ballet class but miss one week, you can swap to Tuesday Commercial Dance either the same week or any other time during the Term.

What if I can’t afford the classes?

We have an option to pay in instalments when booking, see the Payment Plans section above.
We also offer scholarships, see the Scholarships section above.
Any questions or worries, always get in touch asap. We will always try and help where we can!

Do I have to perform?

Any & all performance opportunities are completely optional!
While they are great opportunities and fun days spent with your friends and everyone usually has a blast on stage, if this is not for you, or if you can’t participate in a show for any reason, you do not have to. It should not affect your place within classes.

I’m not currently in class, can I still go to socials?

Of course! Ex-members are always welcome at socials.
Anyone who’s never been an RNDA member, a lot of our socials & events are open to everyone.
Keep an eye on our socials, check the website & Outsavvy. We’d love to have you with us!
