Biography
The Performing Arts was in my DNA, Mum’s an actor and my Grandmother was a dancer, so I was singing, dancing & acting from a very young age. At 16 I trained at The Urdang Academy and then London Contemporary School (The Place). I started teaching before I even graduated. I always loved teaching, creating work & watching people bring it to life. I worked professionally, mainly as a dancer, for over 10 years, travelling the world, before I realised that performing was never the passion, it was just Dance, so I came home to London and did my teaching qualification through the British Ballet Organisation.
I’ve taught everything; Musical Theatre to toddlers, Tap for the over 60s, worked at PA colleges teaching students going on to be professionals & choreographed professional shows.
In 2015 I decided I wanted to have more control over my life & work, so set up what is now RNDA to give something back to the gays. Working with the LGBT+ community has been life changing, I love meeting all our students of varying ages, from completely different backgrounds & watching them come together in classes, rehearsals & socials to build something beautiful.
Alex currently teaches General Dance & Musical Theatre.
